City of Amarillo to hold public concerning two drainage projects

The community is invited to attend a public meeting on Thursday, March 1 at the Northwest Branch Library, 6100 S.W. 9th Ave. beginning at 6 p.m. to learn more about two upcoming drainage improvement projects. The projects include improvements at Cedar Meadow Circle and Plum Creek Drive and at the Hillside Water Tank west of Soncy Road. Construction is anticipated to begin in March.

City staff will be on hand to answer questions at the meeting and residents are encouraged to attend to gain more information about the projects.

Amarillo City Council awarded the $630,007 contract to L.A. Fuller & Sons Construction. The contract includes provisions to help minimize the impact to neighborhood traffic. However, residents in the area may want to find alternate routes at various times throughout the project and are encouraged to use extreme caution and anticipate delays.

The City and its contractor would like to thank residents and motorists in advance for their patience and understanding. For more information or questions concerning these projects, please call the City of Amarillo’s Capital Projects & Development Engineering division at (806) 378-9334.
