DPS seizes marijuana during Carson County traffic stop

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) seized 66 pounds of marijuana Friday, February 16, after a Texas Highway Patrol trooper stopped a vehicle in Carson County.

At approximately 10:41 a.m., a DPS trooper stopped a 2013 Ford Focus traveling east on I-40 near Conway, for a traffic violation. A DPS canine arrived at the scene and alerted on the vehicle. The Trooper then discovered multiple vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana inside duffle bags in the trunk.

The driver – Naomi Anderson, 26, of Trinidad, California – was arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana. Anderson was transported and booked into the Carson County jail.

The drugs allegedly were being transported from Santa Rosa, California, to Miami, Oklahoma.
