Two people arrested, 126 pounds of marijuana seized after Carson County traffic stop

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) seized over 126 pounds of marijuana Saturday, April 28, after a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle in Carson County.

At approximately 2:14 p.m., a DPS Trooper stopped a 2018 Ford F150 pickup truck traveling east on I-40 near Conway, for a traffic violation. The Trooper then discovered multiple vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana inside tool boxes located in the bed of the truck.

The driver – Joseph Little, of Upland, California – and passenger – David Belmontez, of Ontario, California – were arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana. Little, 59, and Belmontez, 48, were transported and booked into the Carson County jail.

The drugs allegedly were being transported from Ontario, California to Houston.
