"An altercation occurred against a staff member by two students. Law Enforcement responded and an investigation took place.

"Due to FERPA law, we cannot provide information regarding any matters of a student.

"The district is completing an internal investigation. We have taken appropriate steps and measures to address the situation," the Canyon ISD said.

The Canyon Police Department said the unidentified coach found two students in an area of the campus where they weren't supposed to be. The coach then attempted to escort the two students to the principal's office.
