DPS seizes more than 5,800 pounds of drugs after traffic stop

This past Tuesday, the Texas Department of Public Safety seized more than 3,400 pounds of marijuana and 2,400 pounds of THC products after a traffic stop on U.S. 287 near Clarendon.

The DPS trooper stopped a 2014 Volvo RV for a traffic violation. During a search of the vehicle. the trooper discovered multiple boxes containing vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana and THC products inside the rear cargo of the RV.

William Davis, 52, of Sacramento, Calif., was arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana. Davis was booked into the Donley County Jail.

Investigators believe the drugs were allegedly being transported from Redding, Calif. to Houston.
