WT's Ryan Quaid named LSC Offensive Player of the Week

West Texas A&M senior Ryan Quaid was named the Lone Star Conference Men's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week announced by the league's office on Monday afternoon. Texas A&M-Commerce's Tyree Robinson was named the defensive player of the week.

Quaid had an impressive start to LSC play averaging 22.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game where he shot 17-of-24 (70.8%) from the floor and 10-of-13 (76.9%) from the charity stripe as the Buffs improved to 10-1 on the season.

On Thursday night, the Fort Collins, Colo. native had 16 points, 13 of those coming in the second half, and seven rebounds. He was even better on Saturday afternoon against rival MSU Texas where he tied a career-high with 29 points and 10 rebounds for his third double-double of the season. It marked the fourth time this season and 11th in his career that The Sporting News Preseason All-American he has eclipsed the 20-point plateau.

The No. 8 ranked Buffs return to action on Thursday, Nov. 6, with a short trip down Interstate 27 to face Lubbock Christian at 7 p.m. at the Rip Griffin Center. WT defeated the Chaps 82-70 in their first meeting this season on Nov. 15. in Canyon.
