Buffs ranked 5th in latest poll

West Texas A&M remained fifth in the latest National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) NCAA Division II Top 25 released on Tuesday afternoon. The Buffs improved to 6-0 overall and 1-0 in Lone Star Conference play with their 93-78 victory over Eastern New Mexico on Saturday.

The Top 5 remained the same with Northwest Missouri State leading the way followed by Nova Southeastern, Bellarmine, UC San Diego and WT. Indiana (Pa.) jumped two spots to sixth as Valdosta State moved up to seventh with Alabama Huntsville, Lincoln Memorial and Southern Indiana rounding out the Top 10. Three other teams from the South Central Region are ranked in the Top 25 with St. Edward's in 18th, Dixie State in 21st and Dallas Baptist in 22nd.

The Buffs host Oklahoma Panhandle State and University of the Southwest in the annual WT Pak-A-Sak Thanksgiving Classic on Nov. 29-30 at the First United Bank Center.
