Lady Buffs earn High Point Team honors


West Texas A&M equestrian continued their strong start to the season with a pair of High Point Team honors during their second hunt competition of the season, Nov. 23-24, in Mansfield. The Lady Buffs competed against Tarleton, North Texas, Texas tech, Oklahoma and Southern Nazarene.

The Lady Buffs picked up three victories on Saturday and another five Top 3 finishes en route to High Point Team honors. Klarissa Barley (Open equiation on the flat), Kristan Hamilton (Prenovice equitation on the flat) and Rea Golt (Introductory equitation on the flat) finished first in their respective events.

Katelynn Hollister (Novice equitation on the flat), Sydney Mayo (Limit equitation on the flat), Kendall Woellmer (Limit equitation on the flat), Veronica Beagle (Intermediate equitation on the flat) and Sydney Mayo (Intermediate equitation over fences) also finished in the Top 3 during Saturday's competition.

On Sunday, Megan Descheneaux (Open equitation on the flat), Karis Blankenship (Intermediate equitation on the flat), Joy Hiller (Limit equitation over fences), Kira Morris (Novice equitation on the flat) and Jordan Schneider (Introductory on the flat) picked up wins as the Lady Buffs were named the High Point Team for the third time this season.

The Lady Buffs return to action on Feb. 1-2 with a western competition hosted by Texas Tech.
