A late Longhorn push would give Texas the lead after the first 10 minutes, however, despite eight points from Chrislyn Carr, along with six points four rebounds and a pair of blocks from Brittany Brewer in the opening frame.

Texas would push their lead to 47-31 at the halftime break, after outscoring Tech, 25-12, in the second quarter.

Texas Tech was unable to gain any momentum over the final half, as the Longhorns finished off the 92-66 win.
